Washoe County Deputies responded to a call of a possible fight at the Sun Valley Regional Park on Monday at approximately 11:20 p.m. Once on scene the deputies saw no evidence that there had been a fight, but were called to the emergency room at Renown Medical Center regarding a stabbing victim injured in the alleged fight at the park. Deputies responded and met the victim, Kyle Schindler, 20, of Sun Valley, who was being treated for two apparent stab wounds to the buttock. Early into the investigation, it became apparent that there was no fight at a park, but in fact the stabbing had occurred during an altercation at a friend’s home in the 5000 block of Koala Lane.

It was also discovered that Schindler was intoxicated and had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested for the warrant and charged with minor in consumption and resisting a public officer. In the course of the investigation it was discovered that one of the witnesses, Curtis Henion, 20, of Sun Valley, had an outstanding warrant and was arrested for failure to comply. His brother Chris Henion, 23, was identified as the suspect in the stabbing and was located at the home of a family member in the 5000 block of Applegate Drive. He was arrested for battery with a deadly weapon and is being held on $3,000 bail.
