Firefighters, police, students and others will participate in events in Reno and Sparks, seeking monetary pledges for the cancer research project in exchange for shaving their heads.
The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) will host “Be Brave & Go Bald” today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Coconut Bowl at Wild Island, 1855 E. Lincoln Way in Sparks and the Shamrock Shave will be at 1 p.m. at the Ole Bridge Pub in Reno. The Sparks event is sponsored by IGT, Panattoni Development and Barrick North America. The community is invited to cheer on participants at either event. Those who “can’t part with their locks” can support a celebration by making a donation online at www.StBaldricks.org.
