Sparks went the distance in a battle with Lowry, emerging victorious by a 14-25, 29-27, 25-23, 18-25, 15-11 score.
Kaitlyn Vandever and Krystal Parker had big games for the Maroon and Gold. Both had team-high eight kills, but Vandever added eight blocks and 11 assists. Parker led Sparks with 13 assists and knocked down four blocks.
“We had already faced Lowry in a tournament and lost in two. We kind of knew what to expect from them and what girl could do what because we had already seen them,” Sparks volleyball coach Tarina Elliott said. “After losing two games last weekend, the team knows in order to make it to regionals, these games against (Division I-A) teams are huge for us. They knew they had to work extra hard this game.”
