Fallon blew open a tight game with seven fifth-inning runs and handed Sparks a 12-2 five-inning, mercy-rule defeat.
Fallon scored three runs in the bottom of the first, but Sparks answered with two runs in the top of the second inning to make the score 3-2.
Joe Christ and Tyler Dresbach singled for Sparks in the second. They both moved up a base on a double steal and each scored after RBI groundouts by Quinn Lightfoot and Martin Jordan.
Fallon tacked on single runs in the second and third but put the game away with its big fifth frame.
Sparks hurt its cause by putting 10 Fallon hitters on via either a walk or hit batter.
The Railroaders baseball and softball teams play single games today at Fallon against Fernley and Dayton, starting at 10 a.m.
•On the softball diamond at Fallon, the host Greenwave buried Sparks 11-1 in five innings.
The Railroaders got their only run in the fifth. Krystal Parker doubled and came home on a Marissa Brogdon single. Those were Sparks only hits on the day.
The SHS crew fell to 0-3 on the young season.
