SPARKS — After a weeklong delay, the Sparks Hometowne Christmas will consume Victorian Square beginning Friday bringing Christmas cheer in a family environment.
The annual tree lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday with free hot chocolate provided by Rail City and cannolis provided by Grimaldis. The IndieReno Craft Faire will also kick off Friday beginning at 6 p.m. inside the newly renovated Sparks Heritage Museum and Cultural Center. The Craft Faire will continue through 9 p.m. Friday and will pick up again at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Living Stones Church will provide traditional Christmas tunes throughout the tree lighting ceremony. Sparks Hometowne Christmas will also be a donation site for the city's inaugural Stuff the Truck toy drive.
On Saturday, festivities continue at noon as Santa Claus appears in the Glendale Schoolhouse until 1:30 p.m. The Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade will begin at 1 p.m. featuring dozens of creative floats on Victorian Square. Santa Claus will also be present in the Glendale Schoolhouse following the parade from 3-4 p.m.
