Spanish Springs was held to three hits in a 2-0 loss to Ponderosa and then Roseville’s Delany DeMello tossed a one-hitter against the local squad, leading her team to an 8-0 victory in five innings.
DeMello struck out three and walked two, relying on her defense in the dominating win.
Roseville did plenty with its bats as well, rapping out 11 hits. Kalei Levy, Taylor Brewster-McDowell and DeMello all had two hits apiece. Lollie Fitzpatrick homered and drove in four runs.
In the early game, the Cougars were only out-hit 4-3, but that was good enough as Ponderosa pitcher Paris Hallums picked up the complete game victory, striking out six, while walking five.
Skye Jerpbak had half her team’s hits, including a triple, and scored both runs.
Spanish Springs (3-2) is back in action at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Manogue.
