With autumn in the air and a new basketball season just around the corner, the Spanish Springs boys basketball program is holding its 6th Annual Crab Crack Extravaganza on Saturday, October 13.

The event will run from 5-9 p.m. at the Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club. The cost for the extravaganza is $60 per person or $450 per table for eight. A purchase of a table of eight includes recognition during the event. Checks can be made out to: Spanish Springs Boys Basketball. RSVP by Oct. 1.

“This event is extremely important to our program,” SSHS boys hoops coach Kyle Penney said. “We don’t do a lot of fundraising, only two events really and this is the big one. It’s a fun event, something we do every year and it’s grown a little bit every year. The monies we raise allow us to travel in the summer and winter, pay our assistant coaches and buy equipment, all the things you need to operate our program.”

For those interested in supporting the Cougars’ boys basketball squad at the extravaganza, call 775-240-4991 for tickets or more information.

“Everything I hear is that it’s a fun night,” Penney said. “People want to come back. They’re always asking when is it and excited for it. That speaks highly of our athletes and parents and the time they invest.”
