RENO — A man from Carson City was killed early Sunday morning after an apparent fight at the Freight House District on Second Street.

Macario Ortiz, 28, was killed and three others wounded a little after 3 a.m., according to police, when a fight moved from the restaurant area to a parking garage a 250 E. Second St. An unidentified person reportedly opened fire with an assault rifle on the victims who were trying to leave in a car.

The other three victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police say that sometime later, a blue sedan, possibly a Honda, stopped in front of the Reno police station and a person inside spoke with an officer about a subject who was seen running east on E. Second Street.

This witness and any others to this incident are asked to contact the Reno Police Department Detective Division at 334-2115 or call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
