The elderly victim said the suspects knocked on her door and asked if they could do some body repair on a damaged vehicle in her garage. The victim agreed, and paid the suspects $700 up front in cash. One of the suspects later asked the victim to use her bathroom. He then exited the house in a hurry and the suspects then jumped in their vehicle and fled without doing any body repair, only applying some putty on the vehicle’s exterior. The victim went into her house and discovered three of her puppies missing. The puppies were described as purebred female shihtzus, two were black and white and one was gold and white.
The victim was not injured during this incident. The suspects were described as three Hispanic males between the ages of 28 and 30, 30 and 35, and 45 and 48 driving a black Chevy pickup.
Anyone who has information regarding this crime is asked to contact Secret Witness at 322-4900, or the Reno Police Department Detective Division at 334-2115. Secret Witness is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.
