RENO — A man was arrested Sunday for hitting his uncle on the head with a brick during a fight.

At 2:55 p.m., Reno police officers responded to a fight in the 1100 block of Monitor Drive. Arriving officers found the victim with a severe, but non-life-threatening injury to his head. It was learned several family members had been partying all day when a fight broke out. During the fight the victim, who is the suspect’s uncle, was hit over the head with a brick. The suspect fled the scene.

Officers contacted the suspect, Jon Wilson, 24, at a family member’s residence. He responded to the station and, after an interview, was arrested for battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm and domestic battery.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Reno Police Department Family Crimes unit at 334-2115.
