RENO — On Thursday, Reno Police Department patrol officers responded to a local hospital to investigate a possible child abuse. Upon arrival they found that the parents of a 2-month-old had brought their child to the hospital with unexplained trauma to a leg and the head. Detectives assigned to the Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit also responded and upon further investigation determined that the 2-month-old had been battered by his father.
The father, 28-year-old Donnie Dogan, was arrested for child abuse causing substantial bodily harm. Dogan was booked into the Washoe County jail and his bail was set at $3,500.
The 2-month-old child sustained a broken femur during the battery and was treated over the weekend at a local hospital. The child was released into the custody of the Washoe County Child Protective Services.
