RENO — Lucha Libre USA is embarking on a nationwide tour in major Hispanic markets throughout the U.S. with the first stop at the Reno Event Center at 8 p.m. Friday. The showdown in Reno is sponsored by the Eldorado Hotel Casino.

Over-the-top is an understatement when it comes to Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors Live. The high-spirited Mexican wrestling spectacular marries exciting aerial maneuvers and extraordinary acrobatics with flamboyant characters, elaborate masks and dramatic story lines.

Almost a religion in Mexico, where it rivals soccer in attendance, lucha libre (free wrestling) boasts a 75-year history of colorful, fun-for-the-whole family entertainment. A significant part of Mexican culture, lucha libre attracts more than 7 million fans annually.

Fan favorites like Blue Demon Jr. and Super Nova will take on controversial anti-immigration wrestler RJ Brewer, son of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. Fans can meet their favorite luchadores during a press conference and autograph signing from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday in the Eldorado Convention Center.

Tickets start at $29 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com. For more information, call the Eldorado at 786-5700 or visit www.eldoradoreno.com.
