RENO — The American Kennel Club began its National Agility Championships on Friday and concludes today at the Reno Livestock Events Center. Eighty-eight breeds, plus dogs enrolled in AKC Canine Partners, from the speedy Australian shepherd and border collie to the tiny Chihuahua and Yorkshire terrier, are competing. Several rare breeds are also entered, including the Icelandic sheepdog, puma and Pyrenean shepherd. The event is free and open to the public. The final day of competition began at 8 a.m. today.
