RENO — Reno Fire Department investigators are seeking information in a first degree arson case.

On Saturday at 3:55 a.m., the Reno Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire reported at 5435 Tappan Drive in northwest Reno. The first engine to arrive reported heavy fire involving about 60 percent of the front of the home. Extensive fire damage occurred to the living area, front porch and attic. The home was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.

Investigators say the home was broken into and several fires were intentionally set. Reports obtained by witnesses lead investigators to believe that more than one person was present at the time the fire was set.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the individuals involved or the fire to contact Secret Witness at 322-4900 where they can provide information anonymously, or fire investigators at 334-2300.
