Humane society hosts Doggie Palooza

Join Nevada Humane Society for the first ever Doggie Palooza. The event will showcase dogs of all types ready for new, loving homes and vendors selling pet supplies, art, gifts and other items. Discover the secrets of dog behavior, get a lesson in doggie first aid, or learn about fostering young puppies. The Doggie Palooza will take place at Nevada Humane Society from 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. March 5. Admission is free.

Get your picture taken with Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen and his dog, Dezzie, from noon to 6 p.m. Mendy Elliot and her dog Fargo will be available from 2 to 4 p.m.

Dogs available for adoption will include different breeds, ages and personalities. You can visit with Pocket Pups, Fetching Friends, Busy Buddies, Love-a-Bulls, and Older but Wiser dogs.

Nevada Humane Society is open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno.
