Driver hits pole after having a possible medical event

RENO — Reno police officers responded to assist Reno firefighters and medical personnel on scene at East Second Street and Sunshine Lane after a truck hit a light pole. The 69-year-old driver, a resident of Doyle, Calif., suffered a medical event and veered off the road, striking the pole. He was pronounced dead at Renown Regional Medical Center. It is unknown if injuries suffered from the collision contributed to his death. The driver’s wife was a passenger in the vehicle. She was transported and treated for minor injuries at Renown.
