CCNN will distribute the stockings at the annual “Operation: Stocking Stuffer” holiday party at St. Vincent’s Dining Facility from 3 to 6 p.m Dec. 21. The stockings will go to local children whose parents cannot afford to buy them presents this year. Many of the children served are either homeless or living temporarily in local motels. At last year’s event, CCNN gave away more than 500 stockings, and this year, are expecting an even greater number.
Supplies still needed include:
• Infant – Age 2: Blanket & Stuffed Animal
• Age 3 – 5: Toys & Treats
• Grades 1 – 3: Toys & Treats
• Grades 4 – 6: Toys & Treats
• Age 13 – 17: Scarf set, Toiletries, Gift Cards
The donation deadline is Friday. Stockings can be dropped off at St. Vincent’s Food Pantry at 500 E. Fourth St. (corner of Valley and Fourth) in Reno. You can also donate items and gifts to be put into stockings. If so, do not wrap the items. If you are donating stockings, label each with gender and age group. Call CCNN at 322-7073 ext. 235 if you plan to donate, so the organization will know how many stockings to expect to give away.
