RENO — Beginning next week, a portion from price of each entree purchased throughout the month of May on Mondays at Wild River Grille will be donated to the SPCA of Northern Nevada.

The SPCA is a nonprofit organization and Reno’s original no-kill animal shelter. The primary mission of the SPCA is to rescue animals from the county shelter and provide them with second chances. In 1998, a small group of volunteers, short on financial resources but rich in compassion and energy, founded the SPCA of Northern Nevada. Ten years and 10,000 happy endings later, the focus of the SPCA remains on rescue and re-homing, along with an increasing commitment to rehabilitating dogs and cats that need a little extra help. To the volunteers of the SPCA, every dog and cat in their shelter is a member of their family, and they make a lifetime commitment to each and every one.

This May customers are invited to dine at the Wild River Grille. A portion of the price of every entree purchased on Monday nights will be donated to the SPCA.

The SPCA shelter houses up to 25 dogs and 30 cats at a time. Additionally, the organization has an active foster home program that cares for puppies, kittens and older animals until they are ready for adoption. Every animal that is adopted to the public is spayed and neutered, brought up to date on vaccines and microchipped for permanent identification. And all cats are tested for Felv/FIV.

“Wild River Grille is a pet-friendly establishment and dogs are always allowed on our expansive Riverside patio but we felt that this event has become such a success we would continue the tradition this summer,” said Valerie Moore, a manager at Wild River Grille.

All dogs visiting Wild River Grille receive a complimentary bowl of water and a treat.

The SPCA of Nevada depends on the support of the community and events such as Wild River Grille’s Dinner with your Dog. Last year, Wild River Grille was able to donate hundreds of dollars to the organization to assist in saving the lives of animals.
