This Veterans Day, the Cougar Battalion formed a World War II Color Guard in memory of the soldiers who fought in that war, Wilson said.
The Cougar cadets also provided an Honor Guard, made up of drill team members, to march with the Reno American Legion Post No. 1.
After the parade, the Cougars also went to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Reno. Wilson said cadets talked with the veterans, gave them thank you cards and posted patriotic posters on the walls.
Cadet SSG Michael Sandall, who spoke with the veterans at the hospital said, “Today is the day that every veteran deserves the honor and respect for serving our country.”
Back at the high school, the Cougars had a barbecue lunch and spent time with their friends. Most of the cadets are already making plans to attend the parade next year, Wilson said.
