Conflicting reports on battery

RENO — A fight broke out Saturday between two men in the area of Hubbard Way and South Virginia Street in Reno, leaving one man is in critical condition. Officers have received conflicting accounts of the incident.

On Saturday at 7:10 a.m., Reno officers arrived at the business at 120 Hubbard Way regarding a fight involving two subjects behind the building. One person was down on the ground requiring medical attention. Initial information indicated that the fight was over one person allegedly taking property from the other. Police department detectives interviewed the persons involved and received conflicting accounts of what had happened.

One subject is being treated for serious head and facial injuries at a local hospital. Although alert and conscious, he is listed to be in critical condition.

Area surveillance video shows an uninvolved person walking from the area where the fight was occurring. Also, one witness called 911 to report the fight but did not leave information for detectives to be able to contact him. Detectives would like to speak to both of these persons.
