The second annual Hope For Charleston Spaghetti Feed 2011 community fundraiser will be held beginning at 3 p.m. with dinner served until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20 in the west parking lot of the Circus Circus Casino at the corner of 6th and Sierra Streets in downtown Reno.
Tickets for the spaghetti dinner are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-12, or a “family pack” that includes two adults and two children for $25, with dinner seating under large tents.
According to “Hope For Charleston” spokesperson Katie Patterson, “This is a family event to help a family in our community and will feature a static display of fire apparatus from various volunteer and career fire departments, a dunk tank, bounce houses, games for children, face painting and other activities, including a raffle to support the fund-raising effort. Special t-shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles and 11-ounce mugs will be sold and there will also be a special luminary ceremony from 8 to 9 p.m.”
Last year, firefighters raised $14,700 to assist the Goeppert’s with needed medical equipment not covered by insurance, and are hoping to raise $30,000 this year to again assist the Goeppert’s with medical costs not covered by insurance and to help purchase a power wheelchair for Charleston.
