In order to observe Veterans Day, the Spanish Springs Citizen Advisory Board moved its meeting to today at 7 p.m. instead of the second Wednesday of the month.
The November meeting will revisit the Village at the Peak project, a proposed business park and shopping center to be built on the corner of Pyramid Highway and Calle de la Plata in Spanish Springs.
At the board’s September meeting, the Village at the Peak land change request to change more than 100 acres from general rural and low density suburban to industrial, commercial and medium density suburban land use brought out many residents who opposed the project.
In September, the CAB only listened to project managers for Village at the Peak. Tonight, board members will make their final reviews and recommendation on the project before it goes to the Washoe County Planning Commission.
In addition to reviewing Village at the Peak, the CAB will receive a presentation from Washoe County senior planner Eric Young. Young will discuss with the board the Spanish Springs Area Plan, how to make changes and update the area plan as well as how to hold workshops for community input.
The CAB will also have time for public comment, community updates and committee reports.
The CAB meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the community center at Lazy 5 Regional Park. The park is located at 7100 Pyramid Hwy. in Spanish Springs.
