RENO — During the past year, Frontier Financial Credit Union members actively supported Children’s Miracle Network through the credit union’s For Kids program raising $10,000.

Throughout the year, funds were raised by collecting spare change, Miracle Jeans Days, book and candy sales, the Skip a Loan Payment offer, and the credit union’s annual Breakfast with Santa event. A check was presented Feb.10 to Joel Muller of the Renown Foundation by Bruce A. Rodela, Frontier Financial Credit Union resident and CEO.

Credit Unions for Kids is the brand under which America’s credit unions fund raise for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The collaborative effort, which is driven by a “people helping people” philosophy, includes individual credit unions; local chapters; state leagues/associations; two national trade organizations; business partners and several trade publications.

The program was introduced nationally in 1996 and since that time the credit union movement has raised more than $80 million for affiliated children’s hospitals. Annually, credit unions are the third largest “corporate” contributor to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals behind only Wal-Mart and Costco.
