“There’s been nothing like this in a while,” said Sgt. John Franz of the Sparks Police Department. “We have nothing to link it to anything for us.”
By Wednesday afternoon, no new leads had surfaced, Franz said. The robbery would be turned over to detectives to further investigate.
“Nothing new has come about this,” Franz said. “Detectives will take it on from here and release information as we get new stuff.”
Sparks police were called to Bully’s Sports Bar at 2898 Vista Blvd. early Wednesday when the bartender described the robbery.
According to reports, the two suspects entered the business wearing the masks, black zip-up hoodies, black gloves and black pants.
Both were armed with black handguns.
The bartender was held at gunpoint and ordered to remove money from the register. The only other worker inside the restaurant was a cook who was ordered to remain still in the kitchen at gunpoint.
After taking the money, the bartender was ordered to lie on the floor and both robbers then fled the building without incident.
Police reviewed surveillance footage and said one of the suspects looked to be a female, but that could not be confirmed. Photos are not yet available.
Neither victim was injured and no suspect vehicle was seen.
The district manager for Bully’s did not return a message asking for comment by print time.
