Arrests made in fight at Lupita’s

SPARKS — Two additional names have been released regarding a fight that sent two men to the hospital last week.

On April 10, Sparks Police officers responded to Renown Medical Center on the report of two persons injured during a fight at Lupita’s Bar, located at 1955 Oddie Blvd. The fight occurred at about 6:45 a.m. and officers were notified at about 7:30 a.m.

Two people had been stabbed in the fight: Alfonso Martinez, 22, of Reno, and Christian Serrano, 20, also of Reno. The injuries Martinez received required surgery. Both subjects were released from the hospital that day.

Officers were able to identify the suspects through further investigation. Marco Moran, a 20-year-old Sun Valley resident, and Jose Javier Leon-Villarino, a 32-year-old Sun Valley resident, were arrested in connection with the incident. Moran was charged with battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm, and Leon-Villarino was charged with battery with a deadly weapon. The arrests were made early Tuesday morning.
