RENO — Good Luck Macbeth Theatre Company will host its annual fundraiser, An Evening of Applause, from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday in its new home at 713 S. Virginia St. in Reno. The event will include wine, appetizers, entertainment, silent auction items, raffle drawings for season tickets and a scavenger hunt including many of the area businesses such as Wedge Cheese Shop, Dressed Like That and Dreamers Cafe. Last year’s event raised more than $3000 for GLM directly for its operating budget. The non-profit organization hopes to raise more this year.

Good Luck Macbeth’s new season opens in March but the whole year includes many varieties of entertainment including improv with The Utility Players and The Jester’s League, movies with Artemisia Moviehouse and The Northern Nevada Labor Film Series, educational theatre with Spotlight Academy for Young Actors and Sierra School for The Performing Arts and music featuring local and national talent. This fundraiser will ensure the quality of productions continues improving and the space is available to other theatre and non-theatre events bringing entertainment to the midtown area.
