LAS VEGAS (AP) — Republican Mark Amodei has unveiled a new television ad that shows Democrat Kate Marshall parroting President Barack Obama.

The ad set to air in northern Nevada starting Friday features clips of Marshall, Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid saying the same phrases. It opens with Obama telling voters, “This election is about you.” Marshall is then shown saying the same thing. It also shows Obama and Marshall calling adversity an opportunity and Reid and Marshall saying “my way or the highway.”

The ad asks, “Who does Kate Marshall speak for?”

Early voting started Saturday in the Sept. 13 House special election.

Marshall, the state treasurer, has been running as a moderate by criticizing Obama and downplaying her connection to Reid, who has helped her raise cash. Her TV spots have slammed Amodei, a former state senator, for voting for the state’s largest tax increase in the 2003 Legislature and for initially supporting a Republican plan to overhaul Medicare by increasing the eligibility age from 65 to 67.
