RENO — Local Allstate agency owner Elizabeth Garver has been named a 2011 finalist for Allstate’s Ray Lynch Community Service Award, the company’s highest community service honor.

Throughout her eight years as an agent, Garver consistently puts the community first. Garver sponsors food drives and community events to raise awareness for organizations in need. With the award comes a $2,000 grant from The Allstate Foundation to a charity of Garver’s choice. She chose The Sierra Nevada Zoological Society, Inc. as the grant recipient for its dedication to zoological parks conservation, recognition and scientific studies.

Garver’s charitable efforts also extend to such causes as local university tailgating events to collect donations for the Evelyn Mount Community Outreach Food Drive. She is also a strong supporter of teen safe driving. She hosted three Allstate “X the TXT” events to spread awareness of the dangers of texting while driving. Her participation in the Safe Driving Challenge, an Allstate driving event, shows teenagers the distractions they face while driving.
