Accordion king to play at Silver Legacy

RENO — Mexican musician Ramon Ayala has mastered the artistry accordionist/vocalist/songwriter for over 40 years, defining norteño music with signature songs and definitive instrumental styling that have made him a superstar on both sides of the El Rio Grande.

Ayala will perform in the Grande Exposition Hall at the Silver Legacy on Saturday night.

Born in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1945, Ayala began playing his favorite instrument, the accordion, when he was 6 years old.
