Experiential Introduction to TRE™(Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) TRE™ was developed by David Berceli, a bioenergetic therapist and social worker, who has used it successfully all over the world for more than two decades, working with soldiers, fire fighters, police officers and survivors of war, earthquakes, domestic violence and other traumatic circumstances to help alleviate the many symptoms of stress and post-traumatic stress disorder. TRE™ is a gentle, simple and profound technique that is easily learned and can be repeated for self-use. This set of exercises and relaxation provides a very effective release of physical and emotional tension and stress. The exercises induce neurogenic tremoring. Most people describe this experience as pleasant and relaxing and report many improvements in their physical and emotional state. This involuntary shaking and trembling response is genetically encoded within every mammal. During a typical TRE™ practice, tremors begin in the legs and often spreads throughout the entire body. Neurogenic tremors are the nervous system’s way of discharging long-held tension or unconscious muscle contraction in order to restore the body to wholeness. Taught by TRE™Trainer Maria Alfaro. Maria has a background in Yoga, Martial Arts and Esalen Massage and has been involved in Dr. Berceli's works since 2004.
