The 6th biennial Nevada State Legislative Conference hosts a unique opportunity for Nevada’s business community to interact with and listen to key State and Federal SHRM and US Chamber council representatives, and lawmakers on new and trending business legislature. Guest panels and speakers from diverse perspectives represent both community and elected officials.
The focus of this year’s conference is on compelling employment law, compliance and legislative issues facing Nevada employers. The environment is very dynamic and riddled with employment and economic development challenges. New laws are taking form now and will have significant impact on the way we conduct business.
This year’s speakers include: Anjeanette Damon – The Las Vegas Sun and Channel 4 host of “To the Point” (moderator); Mike Aiken – VP Government Affairs, National Society for Human Resources Management, Ray Bacon – President, Nevada Manufacturer’s Association; Tray Abney – Director Government Relations, The Chamber; Anthony Hall, Esq. – Holland and Hart; James Nelson – Executive Director, Nevada Association of Employers; Representatives from the Nevada State Health offices; Assemblyman Randy Kirner (R); Senator Mo Denis (D); Senator James Settelmeyer (R); Steve Hill – Director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, State of Nevada, David Lusk – Senior Associate Member Advocacy Society for Human Resource Management ; Ron Eidshaug, VP US Chamber Congressional and Public Affairs Division; Special presentation on the impact of federal healthcare reform.
