“Cuningham Group put together a comprehensive design plan for the Nugget that reflects our strategy to reinvigorate and reposition the property as THE place to go in northern Nevada,” said Carlton Geer, President and CEO of the Nugget.
The firm’s design inspiration incorporates the necessity to differentiate the Nugget experience from other resorts in the area, creating “energy centers” that appeal to existing as well as new customers that have not previously visited the Nugget. The design will feature upgraded finishes, colors and lighting to evoke a sense of fun, excitement and energy.
“The Nugget’s remodel and redesign will assist us in reintroducing the property to the market as a fun and value-oriented “getaway” for locals and tourists alike,” Geer said. “The renovations will feature new experiences in our food and beverage, entertainment, gaming and room offerings intended to honor traditional Nugget values while generally broadening our appeal. New concepts like Gilley’s will be incorporated into our property to facilitate this evolution in strategy.”
The Nugget’s new owners plan to invest up to $50 million into the property in the coming years to update and renovate the property’s casino floor, hotel rooms, restaurant concepts and entertainment venues.
Cuningham Group’s design stature in the gaming industry is reinforced by its design of more than 20 casino projects throughout the country.
