Volunteers are needed to help plant 4,000 daffodil bulbs in the annual Community Bulb Planting Day. Park staff will show you how to plant and care for daffodils. With your help, the bulbs will bloom next year bringing a bright burst of color to the grounds. Supplies and refreshments will be provided. The annual Community Bulb Planting Day is sponsored by the May Arboretum Society, Rail City Garden Center, 780 KOH Talk Radio, and Costco.

From 10 a.m. to noon, November 2, volunteers will meet at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum inside Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, located at 1595 N. Sierra Street in Reno. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact (775) 785-4153 or www.maycenter.com.

If you can't join the planting but would like to support the Arboretum you can help by sponsoring bulbs. $20 will purchase 20 bulbs, $30 - 30 bulbs, $40 - 40 and $50 - 50 bulbs. Make checks payable to the May Arboretum and mail to: Wilbur D. May Arboretum, 1595 N. Sierra Street, Reno, NV, 89503. You can also stop by Rail City Nursery to sponsor your bulbs for the Arboretum. All proceeds benefit the preservation and conservation of the Arboretum.

Located within Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, the Wilbur D. May Center is managed by the Washoe County Community Services Department and continues to receive generous support from the Wilbur May Foundation.
