Residents of Sparks, Wingfield Springs and the North Valleys will soon have a more convenient location to drop off their gently used clothing, furniture, shoes, and other household items. A brand new donation drop-off center for St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop is opening on Sept. 23 at 4670 Sparks Boulevard. The drop-off center is conveniently located along a major commute route in the Scolari’s parking lot near the intersection of Sparks Boulevard and Disc Drive.

The drop-off center will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local residents who are cleaning out their garages, de-cluttering their homes or downsizing their clothing collection can begin bringing their items to the drop-off center starting Monday. Our downtown St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop store location will also continue accepting donations during store business hours, Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donations sold in our St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop go directly toward changing the lives of local people in need. One-hundred percent of profits from thrift shop sales are used to fund the eight other free giveaway programs of Catholic Charities, including St. Vincent’s Dining Room and St. Vincent’s Food Pantry. St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop management expects the new drop-off center to double the number of donations coming into the thrift shop, meaning bringing help to thousands more people each year by giving them the resources they need to change their lives for good.

Catholic Charities and the St. Vincent’s Programs is holding a grand opening celebration for the drop-off center on Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about the drop-off center, call Auburn Harrison at 322-7073 ext. 235 or email
