The new office location offers a more spacious environment, providing a better quality experience. The Children’s Cabinet and the Division of Welfare will continue to provide the services clients need, including assisting clients in signing up for and receiving child care subsidy in northern Nevada through the Cabinet’s Child Care Resource & Referral program. Additionally, clients have the capability to get information about and sign up for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP - formerly known as Food Stamps) and Medicaid.
“The Children’s Cabinet strives to keep children safe and families together by proving resources and programs to those in need in our community,” said Kathleen Sandoval, program director at The Children’s Cabinet. “By moving from northwest Reno to the centrally located welfare office behind Reno Town Mall, we will be able to assist more families in need, with better access to public transportation while also providing centralized access to additional services including Job Connect, New Horizons Computer Training, Access to Health Care Network and the Washoe County Library.”
