RENO — On Friday, indulge in bacon treats, bourbon and local brews. Best of all, it’s guilt free because it’s for charity! CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada presents the inaugural Bacon, Bourbon and Brews event from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch.

General admission costs $25 in advance and $35 at the door and includes four bacon treats, one shot of bourbon and one local brew. VIP tickets are available through CARE Chest only, cost $40 and include an extra drink, priority seating and other perks. Tickets can be purchased at www.carechest.org, by calling 829-2273 or at Great Basin Brewing Co. location in Reno and Sparks and The Brewer’s Cabinet. All proceeds from the event will benefit CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada’s medical resource programs for local children and adults.

Bacon creations will be prepared by local food trucks, GourMelt, Battle Born, Lazy Sundae and Burger Me. Local brews will be provided by Great Basin Brewing Co. and The Brewer’s Cabinet. The event will also feature variety of fine bourbons, including specialties donated by Wirtz Beverage. There will be live music provided by duo Clark & Kennedy and Contraband, an eclectic local group playing a fun mix of Celtic, rock and blue grass.

Major sponsors of the event include First Independent Bank, NV Energy and The Gem Gallery.
