The partnership was established due to the direct link between the PFFN and wildfires and the ability for structure firefighters in Nevada to reach out to their multiple rural communities where wildfires are most prevalent.
This year’s campaign message is “Reduce the Fuel – Reduce the Risk” and focuses on raising awareness on the necessary steps residents can take to protect their homes from wildland fires.
The primary outreach methods the PFFN locals are embarking upon is is the distribution ofcampaign posters throughout Nevada communities to fire stations, government centers, libraries, community centers, grocery stores, and convenience stores.
PFFN President Rusty McAllister looks forward to this new partnership and says, “This is an important message, and we are proud to support any effort that encourages fire safety in the community. Wildland fire safety is often overlooked, so it is vital to get these messages of prevention out to our residents.”
